Welcome Back to School!
We are all finally back to school and ready to face this second half of the year, testing, spring break and camp. Yea!
Language Arts:
We are gearing up for MAP testing which is right around the corner. My LA class will be taking their reading test on January 27. We are doing this by diving into a new novel study. With this, we will be looking at examples of different kinds of figurative language, exploring new vocabulary, and answering higher level thinking questions. Along with this novel study, we will continue to focus on a weekly grammar skill as well as new spelling words. Last but not least, we will start writing our published book. This will include writing that will need to be reviewed with a parent, revised and edited. Be looking for this packet to come home this week.
Homework:
***Study 10 vocabulary words from Ch. 1-3. We have a quiz tomorrow.
***Comprehension questions- Ch. 3

We will be spending time reviewing skills/standards in preparation for MAP testing which will be on January 25. I know that the students have grown so much already and I can't wait to see what they can do!
Homework:
***Journal pages 260 and 261
