It sure was nice being back at school today after missing on Friday. The students were able to get through everything that I had planned and the substitute left notes complimenting their excellent behavior! It was also nice to come back to the kickoff of Teacher/Staff appreciation week. I loved getting so many flowers. It really brightened up our room and made it smell great too!

Language Arts: Today in Language Arts we used all but 1/2 hour working on our novel study. During the 1/2 hour, we worked for the last time with our reading buddies. While working on our novel study, we read chapter 5-7, completed the graphic organizer together, and found a lot of literary terms. The students also had time to work independently in their packets and on the new vocabulary from the chapters.

Homework:
***All novel study packets should be completed up to chapter 7. This includes vocabulary, the graphic organizers, and all the literary terms from the chapters. The students are given time in class each day to work on this. It is their responsibility to get each section completed on the day that we read it in class.

Looking Ahead:
***We will have a comprehension check over chapters 5-10 on Wednesday.
***Tic-Tac-Toe activities are due on May 15th.
***Wax Museum presentations are due on May 15. Do you have your props? Your clothes? your notecard? Your book?

The test will be on Wednesday since we will not have Math groups on Thursday of this week due to Artist in Residence. Please review the handout and the practice test in preparation for the test.
