Busy! Busy! Busy!

Language Arts:
Time flew by today in Language Arts. After having double specials this morning we jumped right in. We took our spelling pretest, discussed our Weekly Homework Packet, and reviewed our RIT words for this week. This weeks words are as follows: assonance, metaphor, simile, hyperbole, and onomatopoeia. We also reviewed the vocabulary for the week. Those words are as follows: climate, eerie, lumbering, lurk, shimmer, silken, and swallows. Please be sure to discuss these words as you read the story with your child this week.

Social Studies:(Mrs. Doms Class)
We were a real group of archaeologists today! After digging through our trash to find possible artifacts, we discussed a great ancient mound called Cahokia. This really encouraged a lot of students into some deep conversation.

Homework:
***Our Chapter 1 test will be on Friday. It is a good idea to read this chapter a little each night in preparation for the test.

Until tomorrow...
