2/15/11

Language Arts:
Today we reviewed RIT vocabulary, listened to our read a loud, worked on possessive pronouns and contractions, completed a spelling sheet that worked with definitions, switched for Vocabulary Vine, reviewed reference materials(Encyclopedias, atlas, dictionaries, thesaurus, newspapers), and squeezed in twenty minutes to read independently. What a busy morning!

Homework:
***Reading calendars are due on Friday!
***Please see to it that your child is reading extra during the month of February. Extra reading does take the place of our weekly homework packet.
***We will have our assessments on Friday as usual. It is a good idea to reread the story at home, review the vocabulary, and practice writing the spelling words in correct letter formation. ************************************************************************************

Today we worked on the fractional units of the whole. If all goes well, we will be having our Unit 8 test on either Friday or on Tuesday of next week.

Homework:
***Pages 282-283
***Get the fraction quiz signed that was passed back today.
