3/21/11

I sure am glad to be back after missing my first two sick days of the year!

Language Arts:
Today in Language Arts we had double specials, a code blue drill and a shelter in place drill. Right after that we jumped into our usual Monday routine. We took our spelling pretest, reviewed our new RIT vocabulary for the week, discussed our story vocabulary, and listened to our story on tape. This week our story is called Wild Horses. Please be sure to discuss the story and the vocabulary as you read it with your child.

In grammar, we focused on using the forms of good. We worked on white boards as practice then completed a page in our workbook.

We finished up the day with listening to a few pages in our read a loud.

Homework:
***Weekly- due Friday- Please remember that all questions need to be answered in complete sentences with details to support your answer. Those students who answer with fragments or one-word answers will need to redo their work.

Today was a busy but fun day in math. After completing our minute and working on computation on white boards, we jumped into Unit 10. The focus today was dealing with pan balances. This started out to be a bit tricky, but it didn't take long for the students to get the hang of it.

Homework:
***Math Box 10.1
***Pan balance worksheet
***Get Unit 9 test signed by a parent
