1/6/11

Language Arts:
Today was a busy morning. We completed a grammar minute which practiced comparative and superlative adjectives and worked on irregular verbs on the overhead. We also met with our reading buddies, practiced RIT vocabulary, and reviewed the questions at the end of our basal story. The last few minutes before Vocabulary Vine were spent working in our handwriting books.

Homework:
***Reread the basal story and vocabulary for the test tomorrow
***Study spelling

Math:
We did not have our Odyssey time today in the lab due to MAP testing.
Today we reviewed scientific and expanded notation on white boards before jumping into the lesson of the day which focused on using parentheses in number stories. We ended the day with a short quiz over scientific notation so that I can access how well they understand the concept before we move on.

Homework:
***Math Box 7.4

Social Studies:(Suddarth)
We did not have Social Studies today. We had Art Smart instead. Today we worked on our Original Works art pieces. They are not finished yet but they look great so far! Thank you to Mrs. Grocock, Mrs. Iapalucci, Mrs. Al-Ani, and Mrs. Coughlin for such a fun activity.

***Chapter 7 Social Studies study guides were passed out today. The test is next Wednesday.

Until tomorrow...
