Language Arts:
The I Love to Read Challenge starts today! Start marking those calendars(purple). They will be due every Friday.
Today in Language Arts we were busy the entire morning. We started off with taking a Word Master vocabulary quiz. If your child received an "N", that paper will be coming home tomorrow for a parent signature. It is important that we know all the definitions, synonyms, and antonyms of these words so that we can start to compare this list of words to our last list in preparation for the upcoming test on or about Feb. 18.
We also took some time to work on our Page 14 published book writing piece which is due tomorrow. This seems to be the most personal piece so far. Many students are writing more the minimum of 3 paragraphs on this topic!
We also read and discussed chapters 11 and 12 in our novel study, worked on reference sources, and worked on handwriting.
Homework:
***Published book- Page 14 edited with a parent signature
***Read and record your minutes on your calendars
***Chapters 11 and 12 questions

Math was short today due to Science Expo presentations. After our minute, computation, and problem solving, we were able to discuss calories per serving, calories from fat, and carbohydrates. We practiced a little math computing while we were at it too!

Content:
We were able to get through 13 Science Expo presentations today. From what we've seen and heard so far, I can tell that a lot of effort was put forth. I am looking forward to hearing the rest tomorrow.
Looking ahead... Our Chapter 6 Social Studies test is scheduled for Thursday. Be sure to study and reread the chapter.
Until tomorrow...
