Today in Language Arts, we had a big block of time since we did not have any specials. We were able to finish reading Hatchet, complete a character change sheet, review our new Word Master words, read with our reading buddies, and get a ahead start on our homework for the night.
Since we still have some assessments for Hatchet to fill in as well as ISTEP practice, we will start Unit 4 in our basal towards the end of the week and continue that story into next week as well since it is a short week with having Monday off. We will return to our usual homework at that time.

***Study Word Masters- Our test is scheduled for around February 18th. Remember, you will need to know all the words from round 1 of the challenge as well.

Math:
Today in math we completed minute 90, worked on computation, worked on problem solving and continued with the lesson of the day which dealt with calculating the fat content of foods. This was a fun way to review ratios! We also had a short 10 question quiz over ratios.

Social Studies:
We are drawing near the end of this rotation. Wednesday will be the last day with Thursday being Art Smart. My homeroom students will rotate to Mrs. Doms on Friday for Health.
Today we spent the day discussing the three branches of government. The students were filled with questions and they were very attentive. Since we did not get through everything, we will continue this tomorrow with an activity to follow. This is great information that they will need to know and understand. Be sure to help them by going over the fact sheet.
