Language Arts:
Today in Language Arts we started our new story for the week. Please take the time to review this weeks vocabulary. The words are as follows: arroyo, behavior, secluded, glimpse, stunned, nestled, unpleasant, and arousing.
In spelling, we took our pretest this morning. Please make sure that your child is practicing their spelling words a little each night. It is expected that every student should get at least 23/25 on their spelling test each week. If they did not get at least a passing grade on last weeks test, you will find their test with a sticker for a parent signature. Your child should write the correct spelling of the words that they missed 10 times each for tomorrow.
In grammar today we worked on subject and object pronouns. This can be a little tricky so please make sure that you go over the worksheets that we completed together in class. This will be the grammar skill that is tested on Thursday.

Reminders:
***Our field trip to the South Bend Regional Art Museum is on Friday. Please make sure that your child has their sack lunch if you indicated that that they would bring one to school. We will eat when we return from the museum.
***Next week is ISTEP+. Hooray! Be looking for a note of days and times to come home in folders tomorrow. Remember- It is imperative that your child come to school healthy and well rested on all 3 days next week. They are allowed to bring in gum to chew during the tests.
***This is the last week for the I Love to Read challenge. So far, we are in the lead! I have challenged every student to really set a goal for themselves and reach for it in reading minutes this week. We can do it!
***Our third reading project is due on March 12. Also, the expectation for this 3rd grading period is that every student will read and pass 3 AR books on their lexile with at least an 80%. Ask your child if they have.

Homework:
***Weekly Homework Packet/Tests- Some Thursday and some Friday due to our field trip on Friday.
***Read and record minutes
***All assessments were sent home today from Friday.

Math:
Today in Math many students still needed some time to complete their Unit 8 test that they started last week. (We did not have math on Friday so they could not finish it then.) I was able to work with a small group on a variety on skills as they finished up.
We will start Unit 9 tomorrow which deals with variables, formulas, and graphs.

Homework:
***None
