4/12/11

What a beautiful day!

Language Arts:
I don't know if the kids are excited but I am! Tomorrow is our Reading MAP test. I am anxious to see how much growth each student has made since last Spring. Please send them to school tomorrow with a healthy breakfast and a good nights sleep. We will be ready!

In class today we completed a graphic organizer together for chapters 1-2 in order to pick out the most important parts of the chapters. We also read chapters 3 and 4 and marked up our books by picking out various examples of figurative language. The students also took a quiz over chapters 1 - 4. They were given time in class to start working on their homework as well.

Homework:
***Due to MAP testing, the students should not have a lot of homework, if any at all.
***Journal entry for chapters 3 and 4(From Matt's point of view)
***Copy the figurative language from your book onto the corresponding colored sheets
***Remember- You may get started working on your Tic-Tac- Toe activities whenever you have free time.

Today in class we started chapter 12. During this chapter we will be taking a van and airplane tour with our tour guide, Miss Yoshida. We will be touring the West region. Along the way we will be discussing the 11 states in the region and stop along the way to visit three historic sites. With a partner, we worked on geography cards that had us answering questions about rivers, lakes, and interstates that are located in this region.

Homework:
***None

Until tomorrow...
