It is starting to get cold out at recess! Please make sure that everyone is wearing coats!
Language Arts:
Today in class Mr. Kistler started out by reviewing our grammar concept for the week which was plural nouns. What made this so interesting for the students was he tied the practice into Social Studies by relating it to the chapter that we are currently working on. They did a fine job with even the tricky plurals!
In reading we discussed our comprehension questions from chapters 3-6 together and read and discussed chapters 7-9. So far, I feel that this novel is really capturing their attention. I've heard many remarks about the authors use of figurative language throughout the novel. (They are noticing!)
Homework:
*** Comprehension questions from chapters 7-9 and writing activity
***Don't forget that we will be having our spelling test on Friday. Keep reviewing your RIT words too!
***Reading projects are due on December 16th.

Social Studies:(Doms)
Today we presented our explorers to the rest of the class and filled out our matrix that spread across the board. This matrix listed all of the explorers as well as who sponsored their journey, their motives, route of exploration, and personal background. Study guides were passed back today. Mrs. Doms' homeroom will have their test next Tuesday.
Homework:
***Interactive Student Notebook-Page 30
***Study for the test
***My homeroom will have heir test on Wednesday of next week. They also received their study guide today.
Reminders/Information:
Thank you to all the families that brought in food for our "Stuff a Trailer." I know it felt good to help those in need.
Until tomorrow...
