11/7/11

Language Arts:
Today was a busy Monday. Right after double specials ,Mr. Kistler got right into the spelling pretest and introduced both the story vocabulary and the 10 new RIT words. The story vocabulary is as follows: vibrates, alert, surroundings, prey, predators, lunging, species, and survive. Be sure to discuss these as you read the story together.

Our new RIT words this week are as follows: fiction, parallelism, structure, synedoche, aphorism, archetype, paradox, quip, theme, and antithesis. These words and definitions are in their binder and they should be reviewed each night.

Our grammar skill for the week focuses on plural nouns. They need to practice the irregulars too!
