We are back into the swing of things!
My apologizes for not blogging yesterday. We had an Internet problem here at school yesterday, but we are up and running today.
Language Arts: Today was a very busy morning. Since we did not have computer lab because of MAP testing, we were able to get quite a lot accomplished. We passed out our new read aloud books and I began reading aloud. (The students really seemed to enjoy the story so far!) We practiced our grammar skill for the week on an overhead, played a game of "Sparkle" to practice the spelling/phonics skill for the week, read some independently, and worked with writing buddies before completing our final draft of our writing piece. We ended the morning playing a very intense game of "Slap It." During this game we practice both reading and language terms, figurative language vocabulary, as well as parts of speech and punctuation.
