4/20/09

Another cloudy day!

Homeroom: Please remember that all Conner Prairie money and permission slips were due today.

Language Arts: Today was a busy morning. We took our spelling pre-test, worked on sorting words with the /el/ sound, and listened to our new story, Wild Horses. During this story, we practiced finding cause and effect relationships and using context clues within the paragraphs.
We also practiced the grammar skill for the week. It deals with using good, better, and best as well as bad, worse, and worst. This was a little tricky for some students so it might help if you review at home the practice book pages that we complete in class.
We completed our MAP Reading test today. The students are happy to have two tests completed with only one more MAP test in two weeks.(Next week is ISTEP week.)

Homework:
***Fluency and Flow- Please complete all the questions in complete sentences and in your best handwriting. Remember to get a parent signature that you read the story a loud to a parent. This is a difficult story so it would help to discuss it as you read it a loud to an adult.
***Spelling tests and usual assessments will be on Friday.
***We will start our Novel Study next week.
