Language Arts:
We knew right from the beginning that Percy did not steal the lightning bolt! We were sure surprised to find out who the master mind was behind it all though.
Today in class we took our vocabulary quiz, discussed our questions for chapter 19 and read chapter 20.(We only have two more chapters to go!) We also spent some time discussing different types of poetry and how we could incorporate the characters from our novel study into different types of poetry. Then we were off to Vocabulary Vine...
Homework:

***Comprehension questions-chapter 20
***Write three different kinds of poetry that have something to do with our novel or the characters.
***Start using your study guide to prepare for the test on Friday.

We had a shortened class today. The students spent time finishing up their Unit 2 test.

Social Studies:(Doms)
Today we discussed the summary and read and discussed the Reading Further section which talked about the American Indians and how they used pictographs and winter counts to keep a record of important events in their lives.
Study guides were passed out today for chapter 2. The students will also need to study for the Southwest Region test on Tuesday as well. They will be expected to know the states, capitals, and abbreviations for the states of the Southwest Region only.
