Language Arts:
Today was a great day to get a lot accomplished! Here is what we did:
In grammar, we completed our minute which reviewed adding the correct punctuation to sentences. We also reviewed our weekly skill by practicing on white boards and completing a page in our grammar workbooks. This week our skill is creating compound sentences by adding a conjunction and a comma to combine two complete thoughts.
In spelling, we completed a word sort with our different spelling words. (This is definitely a tricky list!) We also completed a definition and synonym page related to our words of the week.
In reading, we reviewed our story vocabulary, all of our RIT vocabulary, and created a Venn diagram comparing and contrasting both deciduous and coniferous trees.(This relates to our weekly nonfiction article that we read in class.)
In writing, we will be working on creating a story this week based on a picture prompt. This story should be loaded with facts about what it would be like if we did not have trees.
