What a great day we had yesterday!

Language Arts: Yesterday(Friday) was a usual day. We took all of our weekly assessments and still had time to review poetry and continue on with our color coding of our writing prompt.
Please note that we will not have a reading story or Fluency and Flow next week. Some written work will be sent home in a packet and due on Friday as usual though.

Please consider coming into school on Tuesday morning at 8:00 to help turn our ELA into an ice cream parlor! We need several parents to make the job go faster!

Homework:
***Remember to keep working on your reading project for this grading period. It is due on March 6th.
***With the I Love to Read challenge right around the corner, it is important that your child continue to read each and every night. We have many incentives planned to encourage them to read, read, read!

Math: We spent the day working on computation, adding to our vocabulary notebook, and working on dividing fractions. Our practice test over unit 8 will be on Monday and the test over the unit will be on Tuesday.

Social Studies: Welcome Mrs. Woods' class! We started new rotations today. Ms. Nufer started lesson 1- The French and Indian War. The students were given a typed handout that summarizes the important facts from the lesson on one side of the paper, and important things to know on the other. This really helped the students comprehend the facts when my homeroom class covered the same material.

Homework:
***We will have a short quiz over lesson 1 on Tuesday. We will review all the material again on Monday and before the short quiz on Tuesday. Please make sure to study the handout of important facts!

Reminders:
*** We are still collecting Pennies for Peace through the end of the month! We need more to fill our container and earn the homeroom reward!

Until Monday...
