Finally Friday!

This sure has been a LONG week!

Language Arts:
Today in Language Arts we discussed chapter 4 and the literary terms within it. We also read Chapter 5 a loud and time was given in class for the students to read chapter 6 on their own and work on comprehension questions for both chapters.

Homework:
***Read chapter 6
***Comprehension questions for chapters 5 and 6
***Reading projects are due on Oct. 14. Please plan time each night to work on it.
***Unit 1 Overall Assessments were passed back to the students today.

Math:
After grading homework from last night, the students were placed into three different groups. During the course of the class period, students rotated to complete 3 different tasks. The three tasks were to complete a review of skills on the board, play the Spreadsheet Scramble game that practiced the skills from the unit, and a standard assessment on angles. Some students worked independently with me at this time to brush up on a few skills.

***A standard assessment was passed back to the students today. Please check their blue folders.

Content:
We started Chapter 2 today. This chapter deals with The American Indians and Their Land. We had the chance today to migrate to a different location in our classroom and reflect on our new environment. The students received a handout today with all their new vocabulary words for the chapter. These words should be reviewed often.
