10/06/09

Yesterday was a busy day for me. I am sorry that I forgot to blog.

Language Arts:
Today in Language Arts, we had a short morning. With double specials today, we really had to do some moving to get through our chapter today. We did have time to discuss the figurative language from Chapter 7 and go over the comprehension questions as well. We took turns reading a loud chapter 8 and comprehension questions were assigned.

Homework:
***Chapter 8 comprehension questions
***Reading projects are due on October 14th
***Did your child read an AR book in their lexile range and pass the test with an 80% or better? Remember this is a requirement each grading period. All AR tests need to be taken before next Friday. If they did not pass their test, please continue to have them read independently at home so that they can take another test by next Friday.

Math:
Today in Math, we completed our minute and went over our Unit 3 Checking Progress prior to taking the Unit 3 test.

Homework:
***None- We earned our 10 chips this week!
***Review RIT vocabulary every night.

A Look Ahead...
*** Unit 4 deals primarily with fractions. This should be a great review for us!

Content:
Today we discussed the environment that the Inuits had to adapt to as they came to North America from Siberia. We also "acted out" roles of the family members within that group and discussed their jobs and responsibilities. We read and discussed lesson 2.5 and had some time to reflect by writing a summary in our interactive workbook.

Homework:
***Review the chapter-Our test should be next Tuesday.A study guide will be sent home on Friday.

Reminders:
***We will not have content tomorrow because of D.A.R.E. and on Thursday because of Art Smart.

Until tomorrow...
