It is Friday!
Reading: We had a morning filled with assessments! Although this was our first time, the students handled them very well. These assessments covered the individual spelling tests, the grammar skill of the week including punctuation, and a reading test. These tests will be coming home in the blue folder on Monday. (Please return the back page only of the reading assessment with a parent signature on Tuesday. This would be the Student Evaluation Chart.)
Reminder: Book orders are due on Wednesday, Aug. 27. Please make checks out to Scholastic -Now is a great time to get a book completed so that they can start their reading projects. Papers were sent home yesterday giving all the details. All projects are due on Oct. 10 and they will be presented in class that day.
Homework: None
Math: We reviewed many skills today in class using our white boards. The students are becoming more and more confident every day. I love that! We also had a quick standard assessment today covering some of the skills that we reviewed this week in class. The students then had a chance to play two different games that practiced place value and decimal notation. Next week we will be jumping in to their Journal. I am excited about this and so are the kids:o)

Social Studies: The students worked on an open book quiz today covering all the topics discussed throughout the week. Next week we will begin Chapter 1-
