What a great day!

Language Arts: Today in Language Arts, we read independently and worked on our final copy of our writing prompt. This was our short day since we had double specials.;o)
Reminder: All book orders are due tomorrow.
Homework: Our independent Spelling test is on Friday. Make sure that your child is practicing their list a little each night. Fluency and Flow is also due on Friday. Please make sure that your child is answering the questions in complete sentences with a lot of detail. I expect their writing to be their personal best as well.

Math: Today in Math we reviewed many concepts. We divided, multiplied multi-digit numbers, found landmarks of a set of data, and subtracted with multiple regrouping. Our lesson dealt with fractions of the whole. Since this is a new concept, we will do quite a bit of review of this again tomorrow.
Homework: Finish Page 194 and complete Math Box 7.2.

Social Studies: We reviewed lesson 1 vocabulary and concepts for our Social Studies quiz tomorrow. The quiz will be 10 questions dealing with the vocabulary of lesson 1. We also discussed Chapter 1- Lesson 2. The students have a typed handout of these notes.
Homework: Review Chapter 1- Lesson 1 notes for the quiz. ( We will continue to have short quizzes to summarize each lesson. This will make it easier to study for the book test at the end of the Chapter. This end of the chapter test is scheduled for next Wednesday, Sept. 3. Please note that the last two days of our Social Studies rotation will be spent working on an in class project.)Please help your child review by discussing the notes that are typed for each lesson.

Important News: Tomorrow is picture day! Please be sure to bring your envelope.

We had our counselor talk to our class today about problem solving. She introduced the students to a problem solving chart that will hopefully help with any conflicts that may arise in our classes.

Until tomorrow...
