* Picture day is Wednesday, August 27. Be sure to bring your envelope
to school that states which package you are getting and the money
enclosed.
Reading: We took our Spelling pretest this morning. Your child should have their new independent Spelling list and their Fluency and Flow. Again, the test is on Friday and the Fluency and Flow is due on Friday as well. Please Note:Because of a change in PHM guidelines, 22-25 correct on the test is a "P", 17-21 is an "M" and 16 and below correct is an "N".
The story for the week is A Walk in the Desert. Please review the facts presented and the new vocabulary as your child reads aloud.
Homework: Study Spelling words, Fluency and Flow is due on Friday, a parent signature is needed on the Student Evaluation chart. (This can be found on the back of the Weekly Assessment Test.)
In Grammar, we talked about simple subjects and simple predicates as well as complete subjects and complete predicates. This skill will be reviewed throughout the rest of the week.
In Writing, we continued with our 15 day crunch writing in prepearation for ISTEP. It is a process!
In Math, we completed our minute and worked on quite a bit of computation. We also received our Journals and started our first lesson on fractions.
In Social Studies, we started Chapter 1- Lesson 1. The students have a set of typed notes that they should study. We are having a 10 word vocabulary quiz over this lesson on Wednesday.
