11/04/08

Another beautiful November day!

Today was an interesting day! The students came into school talking about the election, candidates, and the latest T.V. commercials. They seem to have a lot to say about their favorite candidate. This would be a good time to strike a conversation at the dinner table tonight!

Today in Language Arts, we added three roots to our Vocabulary Vine, finished listening to a chapter in our read aloud, and reviewed singular and plural possessive nouns. We completed all of this before having double specials. We were exceptionally busy this morning!

Homework: Fluency and Flow is due on Friday. We will have our other assessments as well.

In Math, we spent time working on previously learned skills on white boards, discussed symmetry and the use of transparent mirrors, and graded our homework from last night.. We will work quickly through the next several lessons which deal with reflections and symmetry because I want to spent some time on positive and negative numbers.

Homework: Pages 292, 294 and 295

In Social Studies, we worked on our project. The timeline will take us one more class time to complete. If the project is not completed, it will be sent home as homework.

Homework: None

Reminders:
***Next week is a P.B.A. day. Please look for the pink sheet with information.
***A green sheet will be coming home tomorrow to all my Language Arts students. This involves a family homework assignment. Be sure to read over it and let me know if you have any other questions. This is a school wide project that should be fun for everyone!
*** Remember to read and record your reading minutes on the calendar in the planner.

Until tomorrow...
