The snow has started falling! Remember to come to school dressed for recess. We already have many gloves, hats, and boots in our lost and found. It is a good idea to put your name inside items if at all possible.
Reminder: Tomorrow is the last day to bring in non-perishable food for our food drive. Several of us will be packing boxes tomorrow. Thank you to everyone who helped out. Your generosity will help make a family feel very special!
Today in Language Arts we continued with our grammar review of action verbs and verb tense. This skill will be tested so we will continue to practice. We also reviewed our RIT vocabulary. Ask your child the definitions of the following words: alliteration, assonance, consonance, hyperbole, oxymoron, and idiom. These are just some of the words that we reviewed daily this week.
Homework:
***Fluency and flow is due tomorrow
***Our spelling test is tomorrow
***Read and record minutes in planners
***Reading projects are due Dec. 12
In math today, we completed our minute, worked on computation, and spent the rest of the class working on volume and capacity. Now is a great time to help your child memorize the U.S. Customary measurements. We have been spending time turning ounces to pounds and so on...
Homework: None- They students earned a "NO HOMEWORK" night because they earned 10 chips for completed assignments in the jar. Way to go!
***We will review on Tuesday of next week and have our test on Wednesday. The students will have a practice test to complete on Tuesday. This is a study guide for the test on Wednesday.
In content, we had our Chapter 3 test, worked on the Chapter Review, and finished up the last of the practice book pages for this chapter. The students were also given a project sheet where they will have the choice to demonstrate two activities of their choice. This will be completed in class.
I just realized that I was off in planning. We actually have content a few days after Thanksgiving break. We do have time to complete another chapter. We will then start Chapter 4 tomorrow.
Homework: None
Until tomorrow...
