We had a great day!

Today in Language Arts we completed our morning work, reviewed the new vocabulary, discussed homophones, reviewed grammar skills, and had a writing marathon. I was so excited to see the writing that was happening. Everyone was diligently working and pencils were flying across their paper. We even wrote a sequence of events paragraph during computer lab by using our transition words. It was definitely a busy morning!

Homework:
***Fluency and Flow is due on Friday
***Read for 20-30 minutes and record your minutes in planners
***Handwriting needs to be completed up to page 60 by Friday

In Math we completed our minute, used our white boards for computation practice(variables, exponents, order of operations, and RIT vocabulary. We also began working with a protractor and measuring angles. The following words were added to our notebook:adjacent angle. vertical angle, complimentary angle, and supplementary angle.

Homework:
***Study Link 3.5- If they struggle with measuring the angles just have them attempt the problem. We are going to be doing more extensive measuring practice tomorrow.

In Social Studies we had a quiz over Chapter 3 lesson 1 and their scores were amazing! I was impressed with their knowledge of The French and Indian War. I can honestly say that the storyboards worked! We also presented some storyboards orally today. The rest of the students will have a chance to present their storyboards to me tomorrow. We also read lesson 2. This dealt with the American Revolution and the issues that led up to it. We discussed this briefly but we will repeat it tomorrow as well as fill out their study guide together.

Homework:
***Practice Book pages 29 and 30-Please encourage them to use their books as a resource to check their answers.
***Storyboards

Until tomorrow...
