What a freezing Wednesday!

We had a very busy day today. During Language Arts we met for Vocabulary Vine and rotated through our centers. The centers today included using the dictionary to look up multiple meaning words, reading a biography and summarizing it by writing a sequenced paragraph, and leveled readers. We also started a revision process with a piece of writing that we will continue to work on. During Computer Lab, we took AR tests from this week and completed units that helped with linking verbs and irregular verbs. This is great practice for the assessment on Friday!

Homework:
***Fluency and Flow is due on Friday.
***We will have our usual weekly assessments on Friday as well.
***Our next Reading project is due on March 6th. Don't wait until the last minute to start it!
***Read and record your reading minutes. Everyone should be reading at least 20-30 minutes each night.

In Math we completed our minute and started a quick assessment. This assessment will be used to assess the skills that we worked on last week as well as the beginning of the year.

During our content rotation we visited the planetarium. We learned about Orion the Hunter and the "Let There Be Night" project that will be happening in March. The students really seemed to enjoy themselves.
As of now, I am planning on reviewing lesson 3 in our Social Studies book tomorrow as well as reading and discussing lesson 4. The students will have a quick quiz over these short lessons on Tuesday of next week. The last day of our rotation is January 27th.

Homework:
***Don't forget about Science Fair Projects! There are due on January 30th. (This is a requirement for 4th grade.)

Until tomorrow...
