1/22/09

Please notice that yesterdays information is now posted. I did blog yesterday, but an outage would not allow my blog to post.

Today was a very interesting day! We stayed in homeroom groups all day long. We started our day by participating in a Lego demonstration. This activity allowed the students to create their very own car out of Legos that they were able to race against each other. We also talked about ways to create a car that could move faster. During this activity, we discussed how aero dynamics and weight play a major role in the speed of a vehicle. The students had a great time!

After having double specials, we had a wonderful time in Social Studies. Ms. Nufer discussed lesson 5 which dealt with independence in Mexico and South America. We also discussed our study guide and completed pages 34 and 35 in their practice books.

Homework:
***Practice book page 35 if not already completed in class.
***Our test will be on Tuesday.(Reviewing the study guides will be a big help!)

After lunch we took our Spell Bowl test and worked on an ISTEP writing prompt. Tomorrow we will use this same prompt to do an editing and revision activity. We will also look at some old ISTEP prompts and discuss what makes them good and what improvements we could make to make some even better.

Tomorrow looks like a busy day...

Until tomorrow...
