What a busy day!

With today being Tuesday already, we were extremely busy this morning!

Language Arts: This morning we took our spelling pretest, worked on sorting our words by spelling patterns, discussed synonyms for our spelling words, and discussed examples for the RIT words for the week. We also had a presentation by Mrs. Slater on bullying and double specials.

Our story for the week is a short one. It is a nonfiction article loaded with facts. Please be sure to discuss the story as you read it together.

Story Vocabulary: buffet, settings, major, reduce, quest
RIT Vocabulary:hyperbole, sarcasm, synecdoche, assonance, slang

***Assessments were passed back today. If your child received an "N" on their weekly assessment, please sign and return it tomorrow.

Math: Today in math, we finished up our Unit 1 assessment, took a pretest over Unit 2 and had a mini lesson over the RIT vocabulary.

RIT Vocabulary: greatest common factor(How to find it with larger numbers), base, exponent, power, variable, variable expression

Social Studies: We started class today by listening to the President's speech and then we spent the remainder of the class reviewing for our Chapter 2 test which will be on Thursday.

Homework:
***Study the study guide that was passed out last week. It will help prepare you for the test on Thursday.
