Language Arts: Today in Language Arts we reviewed our RIT words for the week, reviewed simple and compound sentences as well as conjunctions, and discussed our story vocabulary. We finished the morning off with completing a Venn Diagram as a class. This compared and contrasted a coniferous forest to a deciduous forests.

***Rough draft of "A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words" is due tomorrow- The final copy will be due on Tuesday of next week. This should be typed.
***All assessments will still take place tomorrow.
***Reading projects are due Oct. 14.

Math: We completed our minute which had a variety of skill practice. Our computation time was spent working on RIT vocabulary skills . We also worked today on standard notation, writing small and large numbers, comparing numbers, and number and word notation. We were able to get through quite a bit today.
Homework:
***None- The students earned their 10th chip in the jar today for completed homework. They earned a free day on no-homework. Congratulations!

Social Studies: We had our Chapter 2 test today. We were also placed in groups to begin brainstorming ways to create our landform project. This project will be created in class over the course of the next 4 days. We will start new rotations next Friday. My homeroom students will then go to Mrs. Doms for Health.

***D.A.R.E. begins next Wednesday. It is a 10 week program and will take place during content time in the afternoon.
