Another busy day!
Today was a very unusual day. We stayed in our Language Arts groups all morning due to a special Silly Safari program. We had Amazon John here at Northpoint to help us learn about Science. We were able to see a rat, a python, a toad and several other friendly animals. The kids were a great audience and enjoyed having the chance to actually touch these animals!
In Language Arts class we finished up all our cereal box presentations, started our next read aloud, and worked on our cursive handwriting. There is no basal story this week so therefore the students will not have Fluency or Flow or assessments at the end of the week. I suggest that they spend the extra time reading and getting ahead start on their next AR book. Information for the second grading period project will be sent home soon.
Homework: No written homework. Conference forms were sent home today. Please send these back in the next day or two to reserve your time given.
Math: We only had 20 minutes of math today due to the special program. We spent the time taking a 15 question quiz on reducing fractions and then with computation with area on our white boards.
Homework: None
Social Studies: We took our Chapter 1 test today and started working on our projects. The students will have class time tomorrow and Wednesday to finish them up. Be looking for them in the hall during conference week.
Homework: None
