What a Magnificent Monday!

Language Arts: Today was a busy day here at Northpoint. With no specials today, we were able to accomplish a lot! We took our Spelling pre-test, worked on consonant clusters in Spelling, listened to our new story for the week, and reviewed our new Grammar skill which is singular and plural nouns. We found time to work with our reading buddies and read a few pages in our read aloud as well. Whew! It was a busy morning!

Homework and Reminders:
Our Spelling test will be on Friday and Fluency and Flow is also due then. We will work in some time to listen to our cereal book project presentations that are due on Friday, Oct. 10.
***The students were given a half sheet today that tells them what their lexile range is for Reading. They should use the lexile website when picking out a book.
***Everyone needs to record their reading minutes each night in their planners. This will be reviewed periodically throughout the month.

Math: We worked on our Unit 8 test today. Many students still need some more time so we will devote a small amount of time to this tomorrow.

Homework: None

Social Studies: I gave the students a chance to "peek" at their grade on the introduction quiz, but I will not give them back until everyone has taken the quiz. Today we reviewed Lesson 1 again and discussed Lesson 2. The students will have a short quiz tomorrow on Lesson 1 concepts. They are able to discuss the Lesson and use the vocabulary correctly, so I know that they are ready for the quiz!

Homework: Study for the Chapter 1- Lesson 1 quiz. Please use the handout as a study guide.

Until tomorrow...
