10/24/08

Rainy Friday!

We did it! Slipper day was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who donated their money to help us achieve our goal. We raised enough money today to adopt Tami, the snow leopard.

Language Arts was very busy today. We played games during Vocabulary Vine, took all of our assessments, and completed writing "showing" sentences on leaves to fill our tree with sensational sentences. This is going to be quite a display of descriptive writing.

Homework: Read 20-30 minutes/Record minutes

In Math, we finished our unit test, worked on Accelerated Math briefly, and worked on specific standards. This is a very useful tool for me in assessing who needs one-on-one help with a particular skill.

Homework: None

Social Studies: We took our Chapter 2 Test and worked on the Chapter Review. The review will be due after Fall break. Mostly everyone handed it in already and I am holding on to it for safe keeping.

Homework: None

Reminders:
*** Next week is conference week. We will have 1/2 days Monday -Wednesday. Thursday and Friday will be recess days.
***Please keep in mind that our time is very limited during conferences. We need to be on time in order to keep everyone on schedule. If you forgot the exact time of your parent-teacher conference, Mrs. Stuckey has a copy of my schedule in the office.

I look forward to meeting with all of my Language Arts parents next week.

Until Monday...
