Time Ran Out Tuesday!
Language Arts: We were extremely busy today in Language Arts. Even though we had double specials, we also had a school wide presentation by three Harris Township Firemen for Bus Safety Day. The students practiced how to exit the buses safely in the event of an emergency. We also reviewed our vocabulary words for the story this week. They are as follows: preserve, heritage, overjoyed, dynasties, and temples.(Please review these words with your child.) We also reviewed rules for making singular nouns into plural nouns, and completed a worksheet on Fact and Opinion.(This is a comprehension skill this week.) Finally, we took 10 minutes and started to listen to another chapter of our read aloud.
Homework: Fluency and Flow is due on Friday. We will also have all of our assessments.
Math: In Math today, we completed our minute, worked on a variety of computation skills and reviewed for our test on Thursday. The test Thursday will consist on multiplying and dividing decimals, and changing fractions to decimals and percents. We will work in groups tomorrow on a practice test which will be very much like the actual test on Thursday. I will work with anyone tomorrow who is still having difficulty in any area during this time.
Homework: Worksheet- Fractions
Social Studies: Today in Social Studies we reviewed lessons 1-3 and discussed lesson 4. The students have a handout for lessons 3 and 4.(They are on one sheet of paper.) We will not have content tomorrow because it is our first Art Smart. On Thursday, we will play a review game that covers all 4 lessons. Our test over Chapter 2 will be on Friday.
Homework: Practice book pages 26,27, and 28- Due Thursday
A list of 10 events with dates are due on Thursday. Parents, I would appreciate it if you could supply your child with specific dates for 10 different events that they would like to use for their Time Line Project. We will work on this in class after Fall Break.(They will need to know an approximate month and year for each event that they pick.) Thanks in advance for helping with this.
Reminders:
***Wear white tomorrow
***Friday is slipper day! Please bring in $1.00 to help us raise money to adopt our snow leopard. Remember to wear regular shoes to school, though!
***My homeroom class will have their first Art Smart tomorrow.
***My Language Arts class needs to read at least 20-30 minutes each night and record their minutes on the calendar in their planner.
Until tomorrow...
